Turning 24 Rocks...

Michael and I truly enjoyed our trip to the Grand Canyon. It was breathtaking in every way possible, as we were mesmerized by it's beauty and captivated by every dimension. We arrived around 10:30PM on 10/25/08 and stayed until after sunset on the 26th. What a special experience and wonderful Birthday adventure this turned out to be! Every time we shifted our eyes over to look at the Grand Canyon, it never ceased to appear different. Sunlight plays such a intricate part in the captivating experience of a day at one of the 7 Natural Wonders of our breathtaking World. Thanks for reading/looking!

One Ingredient at a Time...

Hello everyone! I didn't realize it had been so long since I last updated on our stay here in Arizona. I'm imagining that those of you back in Tennessee are enjoying chilly weather and the beautiful colors that this season has to offer each year. Everything from falling leaves to smells in the air are delightful during a Tennessee Fall. Someone will have to go out of their way while walking to crunch a few extra leaves for me. : )

Fall being our favorite time of year, Michael and I have been trying to enjoy it as much as possible through adding a little pumpkin flavoring to coffee and treats. Here's a few pictures of the pumpkin roll we made together....

Pumpkin flavoring has spiced up our Fall a little bit, but beaming sunshine on a daily basis makes it feel more like summertime. The ten day forecast here in Scottsdale appears to be a song on repeat with highs ranging from 88-91 and "chilly" nights in the 60's... not too shabby for late October!

My birthday is this Saturday, and it is very hard to believe this time of year is already here. A birthday in Arizona will provide a different tune than ever before- as I wear a sundress and bask in the heat, rather than sporting around my favorite scarf like normal. Michael and I are both longing to see the Grand Canyon (being so close and all- it would be a real shame not to), so this weekend we have planned an overnight adventure to celebrate me turning 24.

I plan to take LOTS of pictures, so stay tuned.

Arizona Fall League...

Hello from beautiful Arizona! Michael and I have quickly decided that sunny weather on a daily basis is something we could easily get used to. A bright blue sky with white fluffy clouds provides such a wonderful start to each day.

For those who aren't sure why we rushed to Arizona only three days newlywed... it is because Michael got invited to play in the Arizona Fall League. This is a great honor, since only the top few prospects from each organization are chosen. Games started on Tuesday the 7th, and the Phoenix Desert Dogs are currently 1-1. Each year Major League Baseball asks one person from each represented organization to lead a blog on the MLBlog site. This year Michael was chosen to head up the Rockies blog! Michael had an exciting 'married moment' on Tuesday when he wrote my name on the game pass list as Jaclyn McKenry. Then, when I went to Will Call and told them my name is Jaclyn McKenry... I'm pretty sure a HUGE smile took over my entire face. It was one of those smiles where quite possibly both my top and bottom teeth were showing! haha : )

Just a little update to let everyone know that we are doing great and taking advantage of the time we get to spend together. Time together is working out nicely- on early game days we spend a lot of time at night together and vice vera with night games.

Home Away From HOME...

I want to start off by saying that marriage was brilliently created in the Master's hands. What more could two people desire than to spend the majority of time with their best friend!? Michael & I feel beyond blessed to be together and MARRIED!!! So, for everyone who has been asking how it's going.... just think: sugar & spice & everything nice! : )

Happily Ever After...

Hello family and friends! Michael and I want to thank each of you from the depths of our hearts for making our Wedding Day so wonderful. The Lord truly blessed us both with an overpowering Love for one another and it was so special to share that Love with everyone on September 27, 2008. What a beautiful day it turned out to be! Throughout this blog I will go into some of the highlights of that day we became Mr. & Mrs. McKenry.

Our First Dance

For now- we are safely in Phoenix and trying to learn about the area. Our place is in Scottsdale, which is VERY nice. Michael reports tomorrow morning for practice & workouts, then games begin in a few days. It's such an honor to be here right now, so we are going to do our best at making the most of this adventure. After all, it is the first of MANY to come as a married couple!

It's crazy to introduce myself to people as Jaclyn McKenry!!! I'm pretty sure people will meet me as Jaclyn Game...McKenry for quite sometime! :) Today my Hubby and I were at opposite ends of Target when a lady asked if he was ready to check out. He said, "My wife ran to get something, she'll be right back." That's when a huge smile appeared on his face and he couldn't get it to go away. When I rounded the corner he was still grinning, and when I asked why he told me that story. SO CUTE!!! We are both on cloud 9218348638736423876 right now. It just feels so right to be together: waking up, living, eating, sleeping, playing, etc have never been so precious. We know there will be difficult times in our marriage, but for now...the honeymoon stage is working wonderfully for us!!!

Well, I cooked dinner so I better go eat before we watch a movie.
